Milo and Otis are our special "boys."
We found them, as kittens, on Petfinders.com in May of 2002. They are from a litter of five, and all five looked identical in the face. It was so cute when we went to pick them out — all five little faces peering at us, out of their enclosure, at once!
It was hard to pick which ones would come home with us to be a part of our family. Our friends still can't tell which one is which. While they were kittens, even we had to look at the markings on their body to tell one from the other.
On our first day home with them, we thought we had lost them — until we finally found them napping together between the wall and a cabinet!
Milo has always been the more playful and affectionate of the two. His favorite toys are bread ties and milk rings. He has a whole bag full of other toys we got for them, but wouldn't you know those are his favorites!
It's almost like Otis thinks he's a Lion — sleeping 20 hours a day! He's so laid back and easy-going; I think he's just saving up his energy — to be prepared for his brother's playful bouts with him.
We had a serious health scare with Milo in the summer of 2008. He was in renal failure, and nobody thought he was going to make it through this illness — except him! With the help and guidance of Dr. Fox, today he is as healthy as any other cat. We still keep a close eye on his health status, but I credit the caring and thoughtful staff of Westside Animal Hospital with Milo still being with
us to this day.
As you can see, Milo and Otis aren't so little anymore!
